Many travelers land at Agadir Al Massira (AGA), open Uber or Careem out of habit, and find no cars available. It is worth understanding how ride-hailing works in Agadir so you can plan your transport smoothly.
Is there Uber or Careem in Agadir?
No. Uber does not operate in Agadir, and neither does Careem or Bolt. None of the international corporate ride-hailing apps run a working service here. Don't waste time at the terminal refreshing an app that won't find a driver.
What about inDrive in Agadir?
inDrive (formerly inDriver) is very popular in Morocco and works actively inside Agadir city for short hops, trips to Souk El Had, or getting around town where passengers and drivers negotiate cash fares in-app.
However, inDrive does not work for airport pickups at AGA:
- Taxi union restrictions: Strict local airport regulations reserve terminal pickups exclusively for official airport Grand Taxis and licensed VTC transfers.
- Confrontations & Cancellations: Official airport taxi drivers actively discourage inDrive drivers at the terminal rank. Consequently, inDrive drivers will almost always decline or cancel airport pickup requests.
- Outside perimeter pickup: On the rare occasion an inDrive driver accepts, they may ask you to walk 15–20 minutes out to the main highway roundabout outside the airport gates with your luggage.
Summary: Use inDrive around Agadir city, but use official Grand Taxis or pre-booked transfers when landing at the airport.
What to use at the airport
Two options cover almost everyone landing at AGA:
- Grand taxi from the rank — official beige/white taxis directly outside arrivals. Ideal for central Agadir. Agree the fare before loading luggage (see our airport taxi guide).
- Pre-booked private transfer — a named driver with a sign, fixed online pricing, and guaranteed meet-and-greet right at arrivals. This provides the exact convenience travelers expect from Uber.
Grand taxi vs pre-booked transfer
Grand taxis are cheap and readily available at the rank. A pre-booked transfer offers fixed pre-paid pricing, flight tracking if you are delayed, and a hassle-free exit — especially valuable for late-night flights or travel to surf villages like Taghazout and Imsouane. View all options on our transfers hub.
Getting a fair price
Official grand taxis do not use meters from the airport. Expect 200–250 MAD to central Agadir by day and 300–350 MAD at night. Check our taxi prices guide for full destination rates.
